The green cherokee tomato grew very well in our hot and humid conditions. We have mostly dry clay soil in the Virgin Islands, so growing tomatoes can be tough, especially during the summer months.  This breed did very well in the heat. It also did well with not getting eaten by the birds, because they stay green very late in the ripening stage.  They can be eaten while still in the green stage, and I would consider them ripe, but you can let them continue to ripen, and the skin turns into a brilliant orange color.  The inside stayed a muted olive green.  The taste was very good. Slightly sweet and slightly acid, with a nice texture. Not mealy at all.  I would definitely recommend this breed, especially for people in hot areas, that can suffer from dry spells. I got my seeds from Baker Creek. Looking forward to planting more of these.  Organic food is the best. Keep planting. Peace
